Time for me to go back to the North Pole after my December at Jackson Sumner & Associates. But I’ve learned so much from the wonderful Underwriters here at JSA! They are so smart and patient, that I almost feel like I’m an expert in all the many things they do. Whether it’s P&C, Transportation, Personal Lines, Professional Liability, Workers Comp or Flood Coverage, JSA can make magic happen. Wait’ll Papa Elf and Santa hear all about what I’ve learned. Merry Christmas everyone, and to all a good night!

Whooops! A slip and fall accident can happen to anyone, anywhere, and that is why it’s important to take all the precautions you can to make every area safe. The best thing you can do is carry good quality General Liability Insurance to protect your insureds when accidents do happen. Reach out to the JSA P&C Department to help you procure GL coverage for your risk, no matter how big or how small.

Wow! You guys,…it is hard work building a log home, but its rustic beauty is so rewarding. I can see why JSA writes so many! Their Personal Lines Department is experienced in finding markets for Log and Timber homes. Full log systems or half-log, full-time residences or vacation homes! This one is going to be MY vacation home! https://www.jsausa.com/site/about-us/what-we-do/personal-lines/

I was hanging out with JSA’s Personal Lines Department and they were teaching me all about In-Home Businesses and the types of exposures they face. Many have invested a great deal of time and money in inventory, supplies, and equipment to run their business out of their home, which standard homeowner’s policies may not fully cover. That is where the JSA Personal Lines Team hops in to assist. Whether your insured are crafters, artists, bakers, photographers, tailors, or into Network Marketing…make sure they are protected with JSA’s help. And JSA likely has a convenient online application for your state!

JSA claims they didn’t use to write Workers Comp, but I don’t believe it. Their Artisan GL / Workers Comp Program is fantastic! It’s an easy, online program where you get both General Liability and Workers Comp bundled in one quote! This makes it so easy to serve your customers with an easy quote-to-bind process, even though they’re really two separate policies. And it serves over 75 classifications, too: Blacksmiths, Carpentry, Painting,….and those are just the ones I’m telling the Workshop about. I’m definitely sharing this amazing tool with Papa Elf.

Color me impressed. When you call JSA, you don’t get voicemail. Nobody there has it! If it is between the hours of 8am and 5:30pm, you will talk to a real, live, person each time you call. You can also visit their website’s “Contact Us” tab, and through the Staff Directory menu you can see if the person you want to talk to is in the office or available in real-time before you call or send an e-mail. You can even Live Chat with them when you’ve got a quick question while you’re on a page of the website.
They are all simple details that seem small, but they make a HUGE difference in user satisfaction. Kinda like when we pack a toy that INCLUDES the batteries! You’re welcome.

WHOOO! It’s always windy up here in Boone! So for customers that need Wind Coverage, JSA really knows what they’re talking about. JSA’s P&C Team has markets for Commercial Property Wind Coverage, Coastal Wind Coverage, and Excess Wind Coverage. They also have access to Wind Deductible Buybacks! It simply blew me away…..
PS- Martha in Accounting even dressed as a wind policy for the 2013 Halloween Costume Contest! I’ve GOT to make it back down here in October for that!

I was sitting with Transportation Underwriter, Lindsey, this morning to learn all about how JSA’s Transportation Team writes Auto Physical Damage,…even on the big stuff, like Dump Trucks! I gotta tell Santa about that because he definitely needs something bigger than that sleigh. Learn more HERE.

I was sitting with P&C Underwriter Cheryl today to figure out what makes JSA so good at writing Restaurants, Bars and Taverns. and I determined it was JSA’s ability to customize the coverage needs as much as the businesses customize themselves. No two restaurants are truly alike, and it’s great to see how JSA works hard to find the right market just for them. Equipment Breakdown, Food Spoilage, Privacy Breach, Liquor Liability, Assault/Battery,…and Property Extension Endorsements like signage, sewer backup, and property off premises,….JSA can serve it all up! Learn more HERE.

When I was a wee, young elf, I wanted to be so many things when I grew up: an architect, a veterinarian, a lawyer, a doctor, a museum curator, a computer wizard, and a film producer!
Then I realized that insurance works with ALL those people in providing important Professional Liability Insurance Products to each of those industries. After talking to P&C Underwriter, Haley, I learned that JSA works to find coverage for professionals in all those areas every day, writing over 100 classes with limits up to $10,000,000/$10,000,000. They can also offer Excess Professional Liability, E&O, D&O, Employment Practices Liability, Allied Medical and more! Visit their Professional Liability page to view the list of classifications.

Elvish magic has nothing on JSA. Just go to their website to see what I mean. They have so many applications online ready to be filled out and the online quoters make catching up on your work so easy! They’re all there for you 24-7. That’s REAL magic!

I got into a little trouble today. I had just learned about JSA’s brand new Primary and Excess Flood coverage for residential and commercial, and when they saw me with my boat at the sink, they thought I was trying to flood the place! In reality, I just wanted to try out my new little boat since I also have been learning about P&C Ocean Marine coverage… jeez, those mischievous elves on Facebook and Pinterest have everyone jumpy around here. I assess my risks very carefully, just like the JSA underwriters!

This weekend, I went to the JSA annual Christmas Party, and it got me thinking,…Christmas and New Year’s Eve Parties need coverage too, even though they’re a one-time, short-lived special events. The fun of the holiday season creates so many special events – like carriage rides, concerts, parades, and home tours – that require coverage. So that prompted me to take a carriage ride over to Cheyenna the P&C Underwriter’s desk and learn all about the Special Events Online Quoter for these types of risks. Giddy-up!

WHEEEEEE! Today I was rolling with JSA’s Transportation Team. With Auto Liability and APD that is AM Best Rated A+, full in-house authority, 24-hour quote turnaround, and availability in NC, SC, VA, MD, GA and TN…this is one huge gift bag full of treats!

Today, I got into (literally) the world of Christmas Tree Lots. They grow all around here in Boone NC, but get shipped to thousands of Christmas Tree Lots all over the country! All those Christmas Tree Lots need GL coverage, and JSA created a neat Online Quoter to make covering the risks of this seasonal industry super simple. They’re pretty clever! Try out that Quoter for yourself >> https://www.jsausa.com/site/quote-online/christmas-tree-lots/

Today, I’ve been learning all about Umbrella Policies! I first wondered what made an umbrella so valuable that you had to write a special insurance policy for it, but JSA’s Personal Lines Underwriters set me straight. Turns out, Personal Umbrella Policies provide an extra layer of affordable liability protection over your existing homeowners and auto insurance policies. And JSA has markets available with minimum auto liability requirements that are pretty awesome, even for youth and elderly drivers. They also have a Personal Umbrella Quoter and an Online App to make it easy!

Whew! Well my first day is over and the folks here at JSA give the elves up North a run for their money with their hard work! These underwriters are busy, but not so busy as to ignore the agents they serve. They keep an eye on the clock and understand that your time is valuable. They strive to return every email and phone call by the end of each business day. If they don’t have an answer or quote to give you they will let you know that as well, so you’re not left in limbo wondering where your submission went. It’s just one more thing that makes JSA one-of-a-kind!

Hi everyone. I’m Brandy and welcome to my blog. I’m 14,762 years old, but Santa says I’m very mature despite my young age. I was named after my favorite drink and even found a little homemade stuff in the fridge here so I feel right at home. I enjoy the Boone weather because it’s a lot like the North Pole. I was able to use my elvish magic to make it snow up here very easily for my first day. Today was all about getting settled into the office and picking out a cubicle – sorry Mandy, you’re kicked out! – and have been working with HR to get on-boarded. I can’t wait to get to work and learn all about the exciting world of Excess & Surplus Lines insurance. Be sure to follow along here every workday to see what I’m up to!
